Description

The OPEN Health Learning & Development (L&D) team

Our team brings together a unique set of skills and experience that allows us to offer our clients a fresh, innovative approach to learning. We create bespoke training for our clients to build the knowledge, competencies and performance of their internal teams. We combine adult learning theory, robust content and digital innovation to design and deliver training that directly enhances performance.

This includes creating materials and activities such as eLearning modules, live training meetings, webinars, workshops, podcasts, animations, gamified learning and much, much more.

 

As part of the Learning & Development team, you’ll be responsible for the following activities:

Team working

  • Work alongside a Business Unit Lead based in the USA and a full client and scientific services team in London, UK
  • Work with senior team to ensure all account team members take ownership for their business and appropriate levels of responsibility
  • Ensure effective cross-company working on integrated accounts, where appropriate

 

Mentoring, line management and leadership

  • Manage, motivate and inspire other team members in the US and UK to excel and to actively promote their individual growth and development
  • Support the development and training of Account Executives, Account Managers and Senior Account Managers
 
Communication and client management
  • Ensure that your work, and that of your team, is of high quality, scientifically accurate, appropriate to the target audience, meets the client’s needs and conforms to any industry guidelines
  • Provide client services support and guidance along with strategic input into accounts, actively seeking to add value and working closely with the scientific services team, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget

 

Commercial acumen

  • Identify and anticipate any problems or resource limitations that could jeopardize the delivery of projects on-time, on-budget or with sufficient quality
  • Ensure optimal financial management of each account and demonstrate a clear understanding of financial processes
  • Monitor forecast and plans in conjunction with Senior Account Managers, Account Managers and Account Executives to ensure business objectives are met, on time and within budget
  • Ensure the finance team and senior team are kept up to date with all relevant information and manage financial issues in a timely manner

 

Business development

  • Bring new business opportunities, by leading pitch and proposal opportunities as well as pro-actively identify these and organic growth opportunities so that the team can meet the financial targets

 

Scientific knowledge and content development

  • Maintain knowledge in relevant therapy areas, industry guidelines and best practices

 

What you’ll bring:

  • BA or BS in marketing, communications, biology, life sciences, or related field
  • Previous account services experience in a medical communications agency - essential
  • Previous line management and/or mentoring experience – essential
  • Experience across a broad range of activities, including internal training – essential
  • Previous experience in leading new business opportunities with proven business development results
  • Experience developing and establishing new products and service offerings
  • Highly successful relationship initiator and builder with a resilient personality that capitalizes on every opportunity presented
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • A flexible, proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing challenges, issues, and priorities with the ability to delegate, problem-solve, and set clear expectations
  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure that quality outputs are delivered to your clients
  • Experience and knowledge in Learning & Development and adult learning theories – desired but not essential
  • Ability to work both independently (on-site and remotely) and in a team structure
