Peloton Advantage, a US-based OPEN Health company, is a thriving medical publications and communications company. We are actively seeking an experienced Vice President, Business Development who will be accountable for securing business from small to mid-size pharmaceutical, biotechnology and emerging life sciences companies for whom the multi-disciplinary capabilities of the OPEN Health (OH) practices would provide value. The role focuses on (a) identifying companies for which the OH proposition is most likely to provide value; (b) engaging with senior-level stakeholders within these companies to understand their priorities and how OH can add value to their organizations; (c) working from vetted leads, partnering with the OH practices to secure business from these clients; and (d) ensuring OH resources are aligned to support the client opportunity and ensure excellent delivery toward the goal of supporting the client in multiple business areas over an extended period of time.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring the achievement of annual activity and incremental OH revenue targets, measured in terms of:
o RFP generation;
o Number of credible and vetted leads resulting in presentations and/or proposals; and
o Number of new clients and products/brands contracted with OH per year 
• Ensuring the OH CEO/COO are provided sufficient and timely information to support decision making on strategic and investment recommendations 
• Developing the OH proposition for the client companies of interest
• Developing and evolving the ways of working between the new business development team and the OH practices 
• Representing OH at key congresses and health care events aligned to the target audience and developing the key events plan 
• Supporting the evolution of the OH proposition 

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience working in senior in-house pharmaceutical company, agency, or consultancy roles
• BA/BSc in business or related field; Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree in health science or business management
• Strong knowledge and familiarity with the agency service provider marketplace, particularly in the fields of brand communications, patient engagement, health economics, real world evidence, and medical communications
• Robust network of contacts in above disciplines
• Ability to think strategically about brands and how to maximize their performance at multiple stages of their lifecycle
• Proven ability to develop strong clients relationships based on quickly understanding their issues and becoming a trusted partner and advisor
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities
• Excellent networking, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
• Proven project management, time management, organization, and prioritization skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including outstanding presentation development and delivery skills
• Demonstrated multi-level management and leadership ability 
• Demonstrated track record of client engagement, influence, and problem solving 
• Demonstrated track record of developing and delivering innovative solutions for clients involving multiple internal and external stakeholders
• Direct experience in bringing medicines and/or devices to market 
• Enthusiasm, positivity, teamwork, and leadership 
• Ability to quickly assess, troubleshoot, and strategize information from multiple stakeholders into a cohesive action plan
